Chapman Intermediate School Recognizes its Teacher of the Year
Virginia Richards has been selected by her peers as Chapman Intermediate School’s Teacher of the Year. Each Cherokee County School District school chooses an honoree, who then is eligible for the Cherokee County Teacher of the Year honor. Ms. Richards is the Remedial Education Teacher for reading and math for the sixth grade. She served last year as the Early Intervention Program teacher for reading and math for the fifth grade. Ms. Richards sponsors the Fish Club and Drama Club and is the Etowah High School Swim Coach. She is a Chapman IS Team Leader, Response to Intervention representative and Data Management Team representative. School administrators describe Ms. Richards as a role model for her peers, who constantly strives for self-improvement, pursuing professional development often and with great enthusiasm.
