Etowah High School Student Places at FFA State Qualifying Competition

Etowah High School senior Bridget Kviten was named a Finalist in the FFA Area I Job Interview Career Development Event competition held in October at Chattahoochee Technical College in Acworth.  She advanced to the State qualifying competition in Calhoun on Oct. 30, 2012 and placed fourth.  Her coach is Etowah High School agriculture education teacher Ashley Rivers.

The competition includes submitting a resume, completing a job application and participating in interviews via telephone, in person one-on-one and with a panel of possible employers.

The purpose of Career Development Events is to connect students with what is taught in the classroom to practices utilized in the industry.  Additionally, the competitions promote academic achievement and competence for students who seek a future in agriculture.

Cherokee HS FFA student Tyler Leamer placed 17th in the Area competition.
