The Woodstock Police Department is alerting of a series of suspicious activities and burglaries in areas outside but near our city.

Recently, elderly Alpharetta and Cobb County residents have been approached at their homes by an unknown Hispanic male. Upon the male making contact, he advised he was with a tree cutting service and needed to be accompanied to the backyard of the residence.

This has been found to be a diversionary tactic, as when the home owners return inside they have found their homes burglarized and property taken while they were in their backyard. The male was driving a tan or red pickup truck. 

Woodstock Police asks anyone who is approached with a similar request to please call 9-1-1 immediately so an officer can respond and investigate.
