Woodstock Police K-9 Unit Receives Accolades
The Woodstock Police Department's K-9 Unit recently earned major accomplishments during a workshop held in south Georgia.
The department's unit was among 72 teams that competed in Perry for the South Georgia K-9 Training and Certification Workshop. The event was held Nov. 12-15 in the Houston County city.
Woodstock officer Jake Cash and K-9 Debo earned first place as the Top K-9 Apprehension Team out of 72 teams.
Sgt. Shane Collie and K-9 Mann were also awarded first place in explosives detection and Officer Chad Berry and K-9 Spartacus took 2nd place in obedience.
It's the third time the department's K-9 unit participated in the workshop, which has drawn over 70 teams both in 2011 and 2012, according to its website.
