Eight years of dedication and thousands of hours in the pool have paid off for Woodstock High School Senior Erika Staskevicius. The 17-year-old swimmer has signed an offer to attend and swim for Georgia Tech next fall.
Staskevicius specializes in the 50 and 100-yard Freestyle sprints. She holds both race records for Woodstock High School and Cherokee County, as well as three school relay records.
Erika not only swims for WHS, but trains and competes for Chattahoochee GOLD year-round swim team. GOLD is based at the Woodstock Aquatic Center in Downtown Woodstock. She has also served as a summer league assistant coach for The Deer Run Dolphins.
Her current Chattahoochee GOLD Coach, Mark Schilling,
was a letterman with Georgia Tech's Varsity Swim Team in 2002. Both of Erika's sisters also attended GA Tech.
