Acworth Man Arrested in Woodstock Regions Bank Robbery

Nathan Alexander Dotson, 20, was arrested at a Greyhound Bus Station in Atlanta hours after he allegedly robbed the bank on Highway 92 at Main Street.

An Acworth man is behind bars for allegedly robbing a bank in Woodstock on Tuesday.

Woodstock police have arrested Nathan Alexander Dotson, 20, Tuesday evening, just hours after he allegedly committed the crime.

He is in custody at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center and has been charged with robbery, Woodstock Police Department Spokesperson Brittany Duncan said Wednesday morning.

He is being held with a $16,700 bond and also is on hold for Cobb County, Cherokee Sheriff's Office Spokesperson Lt. Jay Baker said.

Duncan said Woodstock offers were following up on tips when they discovered Dotson at a Greyhound Bus Station in Atlanta. Officers believe Dotson may have been preparing to leave the area.

Woodstock officers responded to what's known as a hold-up alarm call at Regions Bank at around 9:10 a.m. on Tuesday. 

Duncan said bank employees told officers Dotson entered the bank and allegedly handed over to the teller a note demanding money.

The teller complied with the request and the man left with an undisclosed amount of cash. Officer searched the area and followed up on leads, which led to Dotson's arrest.
