The Cherokee County Animal Shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m for adoptions. It is at 1015 Univeter Rd. in Canton.

The adoption fee is $75 for all dogs and cats, which includes pets being spayed or neutered, a microchip, the first round of routine vaccinations, heartworm test for adult dogs, leukemia/AIDS test for adult cats and leukemia test for kittens.
