Service for the Norrell Family Today
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Norrell Family Monument Fund. Donations can be made at any Bank of North Georgia.
A funeral service for Ricky, Darlene and Lindsey Norrell, whose bodies were pulled from the rubble of a July 18 fire in Ball Ground, will be held at 2 p.m. today at Calvary Baptist Church.
Friday, as the family received visitors at Sosebee Funeral Home, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office revealed the GBI's findings.
"Facts and circumstances of the deaths lead investigators to conclude that Ricky Norrell shot his wife Darlene and daughter Lindsey before taking his own life," Lt. Jay Baker, the spokesman for the sheriff's office, said in a press release.
Investigators with the sheriff’s office and the fire department are still trying to piece together the cause of the blaze, which has not been determined. When firefighters arrived at the family's Spriggs Trail home on July 18, the house was already leveled.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Norrell Family Monument Fund. Donations can be made at any Bank of North Georgia.
Lindsey, a 19-year-old student at Chattahoochee Technical College, was engaged, according to her obituary on the funeral home's website. Darlene, 46, worked at Automation Direct. Ricky, 49, was employed by Curtis 1000.
Calvary Baptist Church is located at 137 Hightower Rd. in Ball Ground. Burial will follow at the Ophir Baptist Church Cemetery, also in Ball Ground.
