County Approves Sunday Alcohol Sales

Here is the information you need to know Wednesday, Aug. 17.

 

1. Today is will be mostly sunny with a high near 91 degrees and a low near 67, according to the National Weather Service.

2. The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners formally passed a resolution to put Sunday alcohol sales on the November ballot. The board also awarded a $212,000 contract for renovations and an expansion at the Senior Center.

3. A Texas man in a covered wagon traveling across the United States made his way through Canton this past weekend. A reader shared her account firsthand account of the strange event on Canton-Sixes Patch.

4. The Woodstock Police Department is hosting a training class starting at 7 p.m. at the Woodstock Community Center. This month's topic is Community Awareness and Neighborhood Watch. The class is open to anyone who wants to learn more about this topic.
