Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

Farewell, Woodstock, I Will Miss You

Editor Lindsey Davidson is transferring to another Patch site in Boston.

It’s a bittersweet morning.

I’m looking around at the semi-packed boxes in my room and the empty suitcases because procrastination has won this week. My “I <3 WS” tumbler is the only thing I have managed to pack for my airport trip.

My one-way ticket for Boston doesn’t seem as exciting this morning. While I will be conquering the challenges of another Patch in the great North, the realization of how much I will miss Woodstock and the people who have impacted my life in my short stay here is coming over me.

If Woodstock has taught me anything, it’s to be local, local, local. I cannot thank this town enough for instilling that 120 percent local drive into my mind. I have never met so many hard-working, passionate entrepreneurs as the ones in Downtown Woodstock and scattered in Towne Lake.

I’ve enjoyed getting to know this vibrant town and covering the people that make Woodstock-Towne Lake a unique a spot on the map. Not only has small business been a driving force, but the city development, school achievements, “green” efforts and of course, the ever-growing arts downtown have covered the pages of Patch.

You have been amazing with your support and engagement by submitting story ideas and photos and discussions from the community. I hope I have served you well as the editor for the past year and half.

I am transferring to be the editor of Winchester Patch in Boston. You can still contact me at lindsey.davidson@patch.com to catch up by saying hello and always with any suggestions of great places to go in Boston.

Also, please join me May 15 at Fire Stone Wood Fired and Grill for free food and drinks before I head out. This will celebrate the first anniversary of the social gatherings we have co-hosted in Downtown Woodstock.

Again, thank you for your support and readership. Farewell!

I read the patch nearly everyday. You are a class act. You will be missed by many. I feel sorry for your replacement due to the high bar you have set. Lol. I just hope whom ever it is has as much passion as you do. Thank you for your hard work here in Woodstock.

Troy, this means so much to me! Thank you for what you said!

And the new Woodstock editor is Jessie Gable. She was the editor for the Holly Springs-Hickory Flat Patch. She will do an amazing job here!

Jon, I miss you so much and definitely ChirpWdstck! I'm not sure what I am going to do without my monthly "after hours". I don't know if I am better or scarred from them, but I will miss them. I hope you will visit some time!
