If you are from the South, then you probably have at least one memory if not a slew of them locked away of being dragged along with your parents for a full Saturday of stopping at every house that had blankets and tables of unwanted treasures tossed about the yard.
Yard saling seems to be favorite pastime in the South or at least as my memory serves me.
The City of Woodstock makes it easy for its residents and the tag-along children. There will be a community-wide yard sale Saturday, April 21 where sellers can either meet in one location to get rid of their stuff for willing buyers or they can just participate in the day of cash flow at their own homes.
If you want to be in the central location, you can rent a table for your items for $10 at the William G. Long Senior Center. The money goes to support the Senior Center programs.
If you want to sale in the comfort of your yard, you can also have a free ad placed on the Woodstock Parks and Recreation website, in a flyer, email blast, Craigslist, the newspaper and yes, of course, on Woodstock-Towne Lake Patch. Addresses for the ads must be submitted by Wednesday.
Call Betty Rice at 678-445-6518 for table rentals and yard sale ads. The rental form is attached.
This community-wide event is being done in conjunction with Earth Week and as part of the Great American Cleanup, which organizes volunteers in locally directed activities that encourage individual stewardship for the environment and care for the community.
The sale begins 9 a.m. April 21. Happy selling!
Each week Woodstock-Towne Lake Patch will remind of you upcoming deadlines in Last Chance. If you have something you would like to be highlighted, add it in our Announcements or Event Calendar so the community can be reminded of your event.
