Update: Driver Who Went Through House ID'd

His injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Updated 10 a.m. Tuesday

Shane Rainwater of Acworth is the man who drove his car through a house Monday afternoon, the Cherokee Sheriff's Office announced.

Rainwater's injuries, although critical, were not life-threatening, Lt. Jay Baker said in a news release.

The investigation remains under investigation, but nothing at the scene indicated Rainwater was impaired.

Charges are coming, Baker said.

Original Report

A 36-year-old man drove a Honda through a split-level house on Cedar Mill Crossing, near Kellogg Creek Road, around 1:30 Monday afternoon.

Cherokee County firefighters found that the car had gone through the garage door and exited through the wall on the opposite side, according to a press release.

The driver of the car had multiple lacerations and abrasions, a possible broken or dislocated hip resulting in internal bleeding, and altered levels of consciousness, the release said.

He was taken to Marietta’s WellStar Kennestone Hospital in stable but critical condition.

The home is roped off because of structural damage.

The cause of the accident is being investigated by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.

Ouch! I know where that is, it's right down the street from me. I saw the FOX NEWS helicopter hovering over it, but I didn't realize it was that critical. Things like this doesn't happen every day in Cedar Mill.

Doubtfully! From what it looks like, he had stayed up too late the night before... Or something along those lines. We don't want to jump to conclusions, now do we?
