Chief Calvin Moss answers a few questions for Patch.

Calvin W. Moss was inducted into the Woodstock Police Department at Monday's City Council meeting during the Change of Command Ceremony after he took his oath of office.

He answered a few brief questions for Patch in the midst of shaking hands and socializing with the community and officials from the Cobb County Police Department, Sheriff's Department, Woodstock Fire Department and the FBI.

Moss has served on the Atlanta Police Department for more than 30 years. He served as the Chief of Staff from 1994 to 2002 and finished his time as a Deputy Chief of Criminal Investigations.

He holds a master of science degree in criminal justice from St. Leo University and a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice from Brenau University. He is a graduate of the F.B.I National Academy and the Southern Police Institute at the University of Louisville.

Moss, who begins Monday, March 5, replaced David Bores who retired in late December after serving as chief for three years.
