Police Seek Help in Identity Fraud Case
Robert Butler Wagner of Marietta bought an airline ticket to travel out of the country, but police officials still believe he is in the Atlanta area.
Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a Marietta man wanted for felony identity fraud and probation violation in Cobb County.
Robert Butler Wagner, 46, bought an airline ticket for approximately $3,000 in the hopes to travel out of the country, but Woodstock police officials said they still believe he is in the Atlanta area.
Wagner obtained a credit card under the victim’s name and information and added his own name spelling it “Wager” to purchase the ticket, said Brittany Duncan, spokeswoman for the Woodstock Police Department. Transportation Security Agency personnel caught the discrepancy between the spellings on the airline ticket and Wagner’s passport. Wagner was forced to change the name on the airline ticket to Robert Wagner.
Anyone with knowledge as to the whereabouts of Robert Butler Wagner is encouraged to call the Woodstock Police Department at 770-592-6030.
