Red Flag, Frost Warnings Hit Cherokee
The Red Flag Warning is effective from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. today, and the Freeze Advisory will run from 2 to 10 a.m. Thursday.
The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning today effective till 7 p.m.
Cherokee County is under critical fire weather conditions that could cause rapid spread and aggressive behavior if a fire should develop.
This warning is because of low relative humidity, gusty winds and dry fuels.
Today's forecast is sunny with a high of 64 degrees, and gusts of wind that can get up to 25 mph. The humidity is between 15 to 25 percent.
Also make sure to protect your plants tonight because the NWS has also issued a Frost Advisory from 2 to 10 a.m. Thursday. Temperatures are expected to drop to the mid-30s till the morning, but should reach the 60s by afternoon.
