Rogers Honored for Support for Education

An Alpharetta organization recognized Chip Rogers (R-Woodstock) for his work within the school systems.

Sen. Majority Leader Chip Rogers (R-Woodstock) was presented with the Outstanding Contribution to Education Award from the Fulton Science Academy (FSA) International Heritage Festival Committee. 

“The students, parents and teachers at the Fulton Science Academy are a great example of excellence in education,” Rogers said. “Where freedom of educational choice exists alongside increasingly higher expectations, incredible things can happen. It is a wonderful honor to be recognized for supporting education. I am more committed than ever to the goal of giving every student in Georgia the opportunity at a world-class education.” 

The second annual FSA International Heritage Festival took place at the with over 5,000 in attendance. The festival provided attendees with the opportunity to view displays of international arts and crafts, listen to live music, watch cultural dancers and acts from across the world and sample foods from around the globe.

The FSA includes the Fulton Sunshine Academy Elementary School,  and . Each of these schools is a tuition free, award-winning, public charter school, which serves approximately 1200 students in grades K-12. Their curriculum focuses primarily on math, science and technology.
