Shop Local: Blue Frog Imports

Support local businesses for Small Business Saturday on Nov. 26 to complete your holiday shopping.

The "Holiday Shopping Craze" is quickly approaching, and there are many specialty days to choose from. The ever-so-popular Black Friday brings deals and savings at the malls, and Cyber Monday treats the growing online shopping trend.

But now, there's a new player in the shopping world, Small Business Saturday, focused on giving the growing entrepreneurs a voice in the game.

The Saturday following Thanksgiving don't wake up at 4 a.m. or stare at your computer, take a pleasant stroll to your local business to find unique gifts for this holiday season.

What draws people to your business? "Our biggest draw is the Art Car we park out front, all walks of life take pictures of it daily. I suppose the oddity of the selection would be next and then there are all the fans of Deidra, the folk-artist, that is making things for the store every single day." Why do you like being in Downtown Woodstock? "Woodstock is in what I refer to as the diaper stage: it has all the components to draw on a family and shopping oriented district. In time as more people become aware of it's amazing transformation, I believe it will be a destination place perhaps like LP5 [Little 5 Points] or Roswell. But as we all know, time takes time." What is the best part of being a small business owner?  "Working at your own pace. Well, sometimes. Not having to punch a time clock or answer to someone else's decisions you have to follow. Most of all, it's meeting people each day that we have an awesome time carrying on with."
