Showers likely with a slight chance of thunderstorms early...then showers and thunderstorms likely in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 70s. Southwest winds 5 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent.
I can't see the poll. However, I believe they should. Only because people who were found innocent or had the charges dropped are still having issues with people who think they maybe guilty because of their mugshot photo that is still being publicized on websites that post such things.
Great point Kelly, and for those that have fulfilled their obligations to the state. They haunted by their past every time they search for themselves on google. I can only imagine what kind of effect these mugshots have on some poor soul trying to start fresh. who cant find a job becuase mugshots show up the second any company googles him. These publicized human low points are doing more harm than good. How exactly do they benefit the public. Police should be the only ones with this knowledge. It is their job to worry about these things not the average joe.
These should not be published unless it is a sex offender. For example a 17 year old attends a highschool party where drinkining is involved and we all know teens do this. the party host makes them leave and child gets DUI. This child must still attend school and with a mugshot will be made a mockery,Judged by teachers , not allowed to be in the company of other kids bc their parents know and some smarty pants will post it to facebook and twitter.. How are they to rise above all this and become productive citizens with all of this weighing them down. It will be a huge impact on a childs future and will prevent them from entering certain colleges , obtaining employment and doing certain volunteer work within their community. As a parent the charges are about more than one can handle. As the child , loosing their car and licenses for a year, Dui school, 40 hours of community service, 10 AA meetings, defensive driving class, victims impact panel. Paying up to a 1600 dollar fine not to mention thousands of dollars in attorneys fees. The last thing a parent neeeds to worry about is MUG SHOTS. Save them for the predetors.
Enter your tip here and it will be sent straight to
Don Plummer, Cady Schulman, Bob Pepalis, Jessie Gable, Kristal Dixon, and Faye Edmundson,
Woodstock-Towne Lake Patch's (incredibly grateful)
editors.
