Do you ever wake up in the morning, look around and think “I have no idea what is going on?”
Yea, I’m having that.
For the first time in almost two years, my little world extends beyond Holly Springs and Hickory Flat.
Now, I’m a Woodstockian. Woodstockiard. Woodstockch.
Whatever, you’re stuck with me now.
As of this morning, I’ll be your new Woodstock-Towne Lake Patch editor. I’m sure you read that Lindsey Davidson is moving to Boston, but don’t worry too much. We trained together and started at Patch about a week apart.
I feel like I should tell y’all a little about myself. After all, you’ll have my complete and undivided attention 163 hours out of the week. I take Wednesdays from 9 to 10 p.m. off (Criminal Minds) and Thursdays from 5 to 8 p.m. to teach ballet to inner city girls in Brookhaven. I’ll also be taking some Saturday afternoons off this fall to watch Alabama football. Roll Tide.
My two rescue puppies will make occasional appearances, as will a series of foster puppies from Angels Among Us Pet Rescue. So far, I’ve had three fosters. One I adopted and two went to other homes. If you mix that with the stray cat that comes over for food and the handful of birds and rabbits I take in to feed and sometimes I feel like I live in a zoo.
Over the past two years, Holly Springs Patch has been like a therapy session to me. Yes, I cover the news, but I’ve been blessed enough to make strong connections with the people there. I don’t have kids, but when I do, I’m going to bank on all the advice and knowledge I’ve gotten from everyone (although the thought of picking a preschool chills me to my bones).
So here we go, Woodstock.

If you watch Criminal Minds, check the Facebook page during the show. I always watch it, but I live alone and get scared. Then I start posting on Facebook because it's less scary when other people are talking to you!
