“Woodstock, Georgia” rang through the Superdome during the Allstate BCS National Championship halftime because a 2003 Etowah High School graduate was chosen to take a shot at winning a handful of prizes.
Jonathan Pahlas, a graduate student in the University of Georgia's Department of Marine Sciences, was chosen at random from 500,000 entries in its "60 Seconds of Mayhem" sweepstakes, according to 11Alive News.
Sadly, Pahlas did not make any field goals. He had 60 seconds with five chances, but he was only able to attempt four kicks before the buzzer went off.
Don’t worry, the 27 year old is not going home empty handed. The Athens Banner-Herald said he won a custom-order 2012 Buick Regal GS and a trip with tickets for him and three friends to New Orleans to see tonight’s matchup between Alabama and LSU.
Pahlas told the Banner-Herald he doesn’t have any experience as a kicker as he hasn’t ever played football or soccer, but he sure wished he had now.
