Woodstock Native Competes for Olympic Spot

A Woodstock-Marietta tandem team stands a chance to go to London.

Eric Hurd, a Woodstock native, will go to Cardiff, Wales, this weekend to compete for a spot on the US Olympic Slalom team.

Hurd, with his rowing partner Jeff Larimer, of Marietta, currently hold the most points in the scoring system that determines who goes on to the Olympic team.

Although raised in Woodstock, Hurd moved to Charlotte to continue on his training. According to his page on the Team USA website, his hobbies include recycling and alternative fuel.
