A Woodstock man couldn’t stay away from Pearle Vision or its merchandise, police say. After he grabbed another $5,000 on his second shoplifting trip, the Woodstock Police Department reported, officers arrested Tracy Roberts and charged him with two counts of felony theft by shoplifting and one count of possession of tools of a crime. Roberts wasn’t a stranger to the business at 9801 Highway 92. Just the week before, he also had taken $5,000 worth of merchandise, police Officer Randy Milligan said. A Woodstock woman was arrested Feb. 18 for forgery for using her friend’s driver’s license at a traffic stop. Jennifer Hawkins, 24, was stopped at Main Street and Highway 92 Oct. 13. “Since the officer had no reason to believe Ms. Hawkins was anyone other than who she presented herself to be, the officer issued two citations to the owner of the driver’s license,” said Brittany Duncan, Woodstock Police Department spokeswoman. Woodstock police arrested two suspected burglars at a commercial building at the intersection of Village Trail and Highway 92 Friday at approximately 12:30 p.m. Homer Brown Jr. and Travis Woosley were attempting to steal copper, police said. Officer Ken Friedman and Lt. Matt O’Keefe caught the men after they ran from the back of the building. A citizen reported that Brown and Woosley had parked their van at Creekside Bank and walked to the new commercial development. Woodstock police arrested an Acworth resident for trespassing and attempting to burglarize the Alta Ridgewalk Apartment complex clubhouse Wednesday morning. Deandre Scott, 17, was seen entering the clubhouse at approximately 2 a.m. through the gym door after jumping the pool fence by apartment residents, said Brittany Duncan, Woodstock Police Department spokeswoman. Scott was pursued a mile into the woods by K-9 officers. He was found on a back porch of a nearby residence within the hour, Duncan said. A special education teacher pleaded guilty this week to false imprisonment for duct-taping a 17-year-old to a chair. In a plea agreement with the state, Laurie Peavy, 45, of Woodstock was sentenced to six years of probation and a $2,000 fine.The Woodstock High School teacher and her paraprofessional at the school were arrested on false imprisonment charges in May 2009. Peavy was accused of duct-taping a 17-year-old autistic boy to a chair and confining a 17-year-old blind girl under a desk in the spring of 2008, according to the Marietta Daily Journal. A Mill Creek Middle School teacher made his initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Rome after being charged with the distribution and possession of child pornography. Raymond “Robin” Watts, 55, of Kingston, was caught providing numerous images of child pornography to an undercover agent who made contact with him in early 2011. Hundreds of sexually explicit images of children were found on his home computer after a search warrant was executed. Law enforcement discovered most of the children were minor boys. Woodstock police officers went on a 3-mile chase into Cobb County that ended with a head-on collision this morning. Adam Michael Sides, 19, and six other individuals were met by officers at the Alta Woods Apartment Complex pool after someone had reported drugs and alcohol use at approximately 1:15 a.m., said Brittany Duncan, Woodstock Police Department spokeswoman. Car repairs sometimes seem like a ripoff, but Woodstock police say a shop worker's scam made victims out of his employer and the customers. Cobb County resident Justin Johnson, 35, faces a charge of felony theft by taking from his time working at All Fleet and Automotive Service on Main Street in Woodstock. He no longer works for All Fleet. A police investigation turned up evidence that Johnson collected cash from customers paying for repairs, then pocketed the money and deleted the work order from All Fleet's computer. Three financial fraud cases came to a close Monday thanks to the Woodstock Police Investigators. All three men were charged with financial transaction card fraud in three unrelated cases in different cities.  Chance Durand Anderson, 22, of Woodstock, allegedly sold tools belonging to his employer in exchange for drugs in his company vehicle while also using his employer’s company gasoline card during those travels in Metro-Atlanta, said Woodstock Police Department spokeswoman Brittany Duncan. A Woodstock man was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison today for having more than 100,000 digital pornographic images on his computer. Some of the photos and videos depicted sexual abuse of infants and toddlers. Robert Mienscow, 53, pleaded guilty in November 2010 after the FBI confiscated his computer that had his organized collection of images and videos. “Sometimes a case is particularly disturbing when investigators find out that an individual is specifically collecting brutal images of infants and toddlers,” said United States Attorney Sally Quillian Yates. “This defendant targeted …

A Forest Park man is being charged with child molestation involving a 15-year-old in Woodstock. Michael Steven Haywood, 24, is also being charged with three counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes and aggravated child molestation after the female told Woodstock Police Detectives she was sexually involved with him after they met in May 2010 when Haywood was 23, said Brittany Duncan, Woodstock Police Department spokeswoman. Cobb County police arrested a Woodstock man who allegedly inappropriately touched a 7-year-old girl at Town Center Mall Wednesday. Officer Joseph Hernandez said the 7-year-old girl and a 10-year-old girl were at the mall with a family member when 31-year-old Andres Wilhelm Schafer, of 523 West Oaks Drive, Woodstock, walked by and touched the younger girl twice. An Acworth man was arrested and charged with aggravated stalking by the Woodstock Police Detectives Friday, Dec. 17. Quintin Crowe, 38, violated a Temporary Protective Order after sending multiple text messages to the victim Dec. 5, said Woodstock Police spokeswoman Brittany Duncan. The Temporary Protection Order was extended by 12 months Dec. 14 stating neither party could have any form of contact with each other. The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office and United States Secret Service charged two men with conspiracy to commit theft and violation of the Georgia RICO Act yesterday. Bidas Tsombeng, also known as Simon Makoko, 36, of Woodstock, and Dany Thelineau, 31, of France were arrested near Bells Ferry and Highway 92 after an undercover meeting by a joint investigation by the offices.
