$12.00
Woodstock can get the New Year off to a fabulous musical start with the Big Band Swing Concert coming to Elm Street/City Center Auditorium on Sunday January 6th at 2:30pm. Joe Gransden is well known for his extraordinary musical abilities as both trumpet player and vocalist. Joe performs worldwide, is a recording artist-ten times over, and regularly performs live with a 16 piece big band behind him at Atlanta's acclaimed Cafe 290. Jazz aficionados, musicians and locals gather to play, listen and bring live Jazz to life and to new audiences with every new performance.
He is the soul of live Big Jazz and Big Band. Clint Eastwood has discovered his talent and describes Joe as "a young man with an old soul and a classic voice." His vocals have been compared to Chet Baker and even Frank Sinatra. Kenny G, the Saxophone great says "Joe Gransden is one of those rarest musicians that has it all. He is an incredible instrumentalist with the technique of a virtuoso." Joe is originally from New York City and a family of musicians. "Music has been a part of my life as long as I can remember," says Gransden, "I remember practicing with my father and sitting in on jam sessions with him. Even in high school I knew music would be my life."Performing with Joe will be Woodstock's own vocal star, Taryn Chidebelu-Eze, singing a handful of solos and duets. Taryn's rich, powerful mezzo is reminiscent of jazz and blues great Ella Fitzgerald.Tickets are general admission and only $12 including tax if purchased in advance online at www.elmstreetarts.org.
