Etowah Student Will Be Recognized for Heroism

Jesse Sullivan and his father James Sullivan helped save a family of four from their burning home in Illinois.

An Etowah High School student who helped save a family from a house fire in November will be recognized tonight by the Cherokee County School Board.

The board will recognize Jesse Sullivan, 16, who along with his father, helped pull the family of four to safety after their home caught fire while they were visiting relatives in Illinois during the Thanksgiving holiday.

The board meeting starts tonight at 7 p.m. at the historic Canton High School/School Board Auditorium in Canton.
