Meet Local Authors, Shop Early for Christmas Tonight

Here is what's happening today in Woodstock.

Two local authors will visit the Woodstock Visitor's Center at Dean's Store tonight to sign copies of their books on Cherokee County history.

The authors — Rebecca Johnston and Michael Wagner — will be at the store, located at 8588 Main Street, at 7 p.m. to sign copies of their book. The signing will take place during the Woodstock Christmas Open House event.

The open house will feature a slew of downtown merchants who will offer specials just in time for the holiday season

Johnston, who serves as the managing editor at the Cherokee Tribune, is the author of Cherokee County, Georgia: A History, which is the first comprehensive book published on the county's history since 1932.

Wagner will be signing Picture Perfect in Cherokee County: Selections from the Buddy Alexander Collection. Copies of both books purchased during event will be signed by the author. Proceeds will benefit the Cherokee County Historical Society.
