Sunshine, blue skies,
and sharing good times with family… This
is what the crowds that attended the 3rd Annual Hunter’s Helping
Hands Family Fun Day experienced at Woodstock City Park on Saturday, April 12th. Activities ranged from “Touch a Truck”,
kindly provided by Woodstock’s Fire Department, to Monster Water Balls, to
Bouncy Houses. Music was provided by
Jake Moss Productions, with a live performance by the Celebrate Recovery Band, which
provided carefree entertainment throughout the day. Volunteers came from Kohls, Target, Atlanta
Ride for Kids Task Force, and friends of the cause. While family fun was the intent of the day,
Hunter Duke’s pictorial display reminded everyone of the real purpose – to
never take for granted a single moment spent with our children. Jennie and Brian Duke’s daughter, Hunter,
lost her fight to brain cancer at age 5.
All the profits from the day will go to the Pediatric Brain Tumor
Foundation to help with funding critical research for treatments and cures for
childhood brain cancer and also help with family support. The total amount raised from the event so
far, is over $12,000.
