Innovative Memory Care Community in Woodstock Celebrates Grand Opening

Autumn Leaves of Towne Lake, the first and only free-standing memory care community in Woodstock, held its official grand opening and celebrated with families, residents, business leaders, and members of the nearby community.  The 28,000 square foot, $9.8 million memory care community is providing specialized care to residents living with Alzheimer’s, dementia, and memory impairment.  This is the second Autumn Leaves community in the Atlanta area opened by The LaSalle Group, a leader in memory care with more than 15 years of experience.  Autumn Leaves of Sugarloaf in Gwinnett County opened last year, and Autumn Leaves of Stockbridge is scheduled to open this summer in Henry County.

“We are proud to be a part of the community, and we look forward to providing quality care to our residents and valuable services to families in the area,” Joseph Jasmon, Chief Operating Officer of The LaSalle Group said.  “By offering free programs including seminars, speakers, and support groups to the public, we hope to be a resource for families living with Alzheimer’s and dementia.”

Autumn Leaves of Towne Lake was designed based on the latest Alzheimer’s research and includes high-tech equipment to help keep the residents safe.  The layout of the community and all interior furnishings and decor – artwork, carpet, paint color, furniture, lighting, windows – were chosen with the intention of providing the best environment for residents living with Alzheimer’s and dementia.

The community also features the state-of-the-art Vigil System, a motion sensor program in each resident’s private room that allows for safer independent living. The system subtly alerts staff members, if needed, and gathers information that serves to improve the resident’s comfort level.

“I am extremely passionate about helping people, and managing our community gives me the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of seniors and their families,” said Susan Tidwell, Executive Director of Autumn Leaves of Towne Lake.  “Our programs are individualized, and our staff works to meet the unique needs of each resident.  I am thrilled to be a part of the first free-standing memory care community in Woodstock.”

The entire staff at Autumn Leaves of Towne Lake underwent rigorous training that included the Alzheimer’s Association’s CARES program. That training helps them understand behavioral, communicative, and cognitive changes residents will experience as Alzheimer’s progresses.

Autumn Leaves of Towne Lake is located in Woodstock at 1962 Eagle Drive, between I-575 and I-75. The community is approximately 30 miles north of Atlanta.
