King's Ridge Grayson Byrd Signs with Division I, Louisiana State University

ALPHARETTA, GA:  King’s Ridge Senior Grayson Byrd recently signed his baseball College Athletic Scholarship Letter of Intent for LSU at a special ceremony in the Student Center.  With over 400 students, faculty and parents in attendance, they witnessed the first KRCS baseball student-athlete slated for a Division I school.

According to head coach Jason Couch, “Grayson has been at King’s Ridge since his 7th grade year and has been a starter on the Varsity team since his freshman season. He led the KR tigers to the Elite 8 two of the last three seasons and was selected to the All-Region team after his junior year. He has had tremendous success on his Roadrunner travel team and has been selected to several Perfect Game all-tournament teams. This past summer, Grayson was invited to play in two elite National Invitational tournaments that were put on by Perfect Game, one at the Minneapolis Metro-dome (home of the Minnesota Twins) and one at Citi Field (home of the Mets) in New York City. Grayson was also selected to compete on the Team USA 17-U National Development Team earlier this fall. He was one of 40 student-athletes selected from around the country and he will now be eligible for future Team USA experience.”
