A Day Full of New Features

Here is some information you need to know before you start your day, Feb. 3.

1. The rain continues today with a high of 45 degrees. The rain appears to be going into the weekend, so make plans indoors.

2. We are looking for nominations for our weekly series Whiz Kid. If you know an outstanding kid, send them my way. Winner of the spelling bee, player of the week, Eagle Scout or Star Student at school, send them all to lindsey.davidson@patch.com.

4. The Cherokee County  unanimously voted to ban vehicle immobilization devices, or “boots,” from being used by private property owners Monday evening. The commissioners informally agreed that they might revisit the issue if someone were to come to them with a set of regulations for booting.

5. Today we are rolling out a few new weekly features. Check them out throughout the day. We will have Viewfinder, which will be a slideshow that will consist of photos highlighting Woodstock-Towne Lake life. A weekend planner will be published every Thursday giving you the top five events you can add to your calendar. We will also have five local restaurants for you to check out in the Bites Nearby.
