Cherokee High Students Arrested

Here is the information you need to know Thursday, Sept. 8.

1. There is no rain in the forecast for today. You can expect partly sunny skies with a high of 76 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

2. Four students are suspected of spray painting buildings in Downtown Canton, a bridge in the River Green subdivision and their school. Varsity basketball players Daniel Gilbreath and Dionte Jenkins and 2011 graduate Thomas Gilbreath were booked into the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center after a Friday evening traffic stop yielded two cans of black spray paint, several markers, marijuana, a glass smoking pipe and confessions. 3. where residents could discuss next year's Atlanta regional transportation SPLOST referendum. A strong majority of East Cobb residents that attended the meeting said they oppose the penny sales tax because they doubt the nearly $1.2 billion collected for Cobb projects over 10 years would benefit them.
