Cherokee Starts Towne Lake, Rose Creek Resurfacing
The $2 million project to resurface both roads is expected to wrap up sometime in November.
The anticipated resurfacing project for both Towne Lake Parkway and Rose Creek Drive will kick off on Monday.
The Cherokee County Roadway Capital Program Management Division on Friday said lane closures and traffic delays will start on Monday as part of the $1.9 million project.
Crews with Marietta-based C.W. Matthews Contracting Company will start deep patching the pavement along Towne Lake, starting at 6 p.m. and wrapping up by 6 a.m. the next day.
Residents should also expect regular lane closures during the project.
Cherokee County predicts the patching should take about three weeks, barring inclement weather. Milling and final resurfacing will start soon after that, and the project is slated to be complete by November.
The improvements include resurfacing Towne Lake Parkway between Eagle Drive and Bells Ferry Road and Rose Creek Drive between Towne Lake Parkway and Eagle Drive.
Upgrades and enhancements to pedestrian crossing on both roads and the installation of deceleration lanes on Andover Way, Arborhill Drive and Rose Creek Lane will also be done.
