Church Creates New Teen, Young Adult Ministry

Cornerstone Community Church in Woodstock has launched LifeSave Station, a ministry targeting teenagers and young adults.

Teenagers and young adults in Woodstock have come together to create a new ministry.

The teens and young adults at Cornerstone Community Church on July 15 held a grand opening of its LifeSave Station, a new ministry of the church.

The young adults and teens "wanted to make a comfortable, fun place for others their age to come learn about Jesus Christ," according to the church's press release.

“We wanted a place in our church where younger people (high school and college age) could get together and have positive surroundings – a place where we could all get together and play music, hear messages, share testimonies and have a good time worshipping The Lord,” said Emily Wauford, who co-leads LifeSave Station with her brother Ryan Wauford. “The purpose of LifeSave Station is simply bring people to Jesus.”

Ryan Wauford added he felt the "call of the Holy Spirit" that led him to Cornerstone Community Church.

"I was playing percussion on the worship team at another church, but really felt led to lead a contemporary Christian rock band focused on youth and college students," he added. "So when I arrived at Cornerstone, Pastor David (Kight) was more than welcoming regarding my ambitions. In fact, he and the church elders were praying for the very same thing I was; a place for the youth and college students of Cherokee County to come together and worship Jesus in a place they could feel comfortable to be themselves around other Christian students. And thus, LifeSave Station was born."

While regular weekday meetings of LifeSave Station have yet to be finalized, those interested in participating can reach out to Emily Wauford at emilywauford@yahoo.com or Ryan Wauford at rwauford@yahoo.com.
