City Continues to Pick Up Storm Debris

Here is the information you need to know Tuesday, Sept. 20.

1. There is a 50 percent chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms throughout the day, according to the National Weather Service. The rest of the day will be cloudy with a high of 81 degrees and a low of 64.

2. The will continue to pick up storm debris from the through Wednesday, Sept. 28. All storm debris must be brought to the curb in order to be picked up by the City. Please call 770 592-6038 to notify the City your debris is ready for pickup.

After Sept. 28, residents and businesses should utilize Advanced Disposal for this service by following their guidelines:

Yard Trash: Residents shall cut tree limbs, logs and brush into pieces no more than four feet in length or 50 pounds in weight. Leaves, grass clippings, tree and shrubbery clippings and other small pieces shall be placed in a plastic bag or tied in an 18" bundle and left at the curb with your household trash.

3. The are set to decide tonight whether or not to proceed with plans for a in Holly Springs. The commissioners approved a business plan already but postponed a decision at their last meeting on whether or not to take bids on the construction. Follow along live with the meeting at 6 p.m.

4. You can meet Author Herman Parish at  at 4:30 p.m. when he reads and signs copies of his book, Amelia Bedelia's First Field Trip. Parish has written 14 Amelia Bedelia books adding to the series started by his aunt, Peggy Parish.

5. Woodstock-Towne Lake Patch and GotoGrls are hosting with free food from  tonight starting at 7. This is an opportunity to mingle with local residents and business owners in Downtown Woodstock. You can also casually learn about social media tools.
