Drinks at Taco Mac

You don’t have to look very far for some Great Escapes. Our community has many excellent eateries for couples to visit, ranging from elegant restaurants to casual sports bars. One of my favorites is , located on Highway 92.

For many years, my husband and I have enjoyed Taco Mac on weekend afternoons. It is a great place to watch ball games, and we love the chicken wings. The restaurant/sports bar is a perfect place for an afternoon escape from errand running and housework. We make it a point to not discuss work while there, preferring to spend our “Mac Time” planning the next vacation or recalling funny marriage and family moments. It is our respite spot.

Details regarding Taco Mac’s menu and amenities are included in the Woodstock Patch Directory (), so I won’t repeat them. But I do want to share information about Pint Night and this month’s Beer of the Month.

Pint Night is every Thursday starting at 5 o’clock and April’s Beer of the Month is Palm–a Belgium Amber Lager. Aficionados will notice that Palm tastes similar to Fat Tire, a popular Belgium brew noted for its hint of caramel flavor. Order a Palm on Pint Night and receive a free glass with the beer’s logo.

Taco Mac recently updated their food menu, so try something different. In addition, a new beer wall was just installed and there are now 105 drafts from which to choose. Indeed, Taco Mac is known for its extensive selection of world-class beers on tap or in the bottle. You might consider joining the Brew Club and earning points over time toward prizes such as T-shirts, discounts and large pours.  

So grab your spouse and head to Taco Mac for a casual meal and a refreshing brew on Pint Night. Remember, in the spirit of Great Escaping, no serious conversation allowed! And don’t forget a designated driver. I hope you enjoy your evening together.
