Frost Advisory Hits Woodstock Tonight

Here is the information you need to know Thursday, Oct. 20.

1. It's going to be chilly again with a high of 56 degrees and a low of 36, according to the National Weather Service. There is a frost advisory for tonight where temperatures will reach the mid-30s after midnight going into Friday morning. Sensitive plants could be killed from this premature frost if not covered.

2. The Tuesday after they were destroyed in the September 2009 flood. The property on Dupree Road was bought by the city and is hoped to be used for a proposed dog park.

3. are asking for the public's help in looking for a 28-year-old missing that stole a wallet from a woman at Cherokee 16 Cinemas. Terrance May is a Woodstock native that worked for the theatre at a sub contractor. Check back at 8 a.m. for more details.

4. Cherokee County School Nutrition Association awarded the Judy Johnson Memorial Scholarship for 2011 to Cory Locatelli, a graduate. Locatelli said he plans to use the $1,000 scholarship to complete a degree in fine arts at Kennesaw State University with a concentration in photography. CCSNA holds fundraisers and accepts donations for the scholarship, which has been named in honor of Judy Johnson, a school food service employee who passed away in 2009. The scholarship is awarded to the child or grandchild of a CCSNA member who has shown strong academic performance and a record of community service.

5. City Council Member Chris Casdia, Ward 2, is hosting a Town Hall meeting at the Chamber at City Center in Downtown Woodstock at 7 p.m. It's open to the public.
