Get Connected with Lake Safety Project

Here is the information you need to know July 25.

1. There is a 70 percent chance of thunderstorms throughout the day. The rest of the day will be mostly cloudy with a high of 89 and a low of 70 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

2. Woodstock-Towne Lake, Acworth and Cartersville Patches have been making a joint effort to bring you lake safety tips and coverage for a couple of weeks now. You can view the collective work on the Safe on the Lake Facebook Page. Here you will find coverage of the summer's drownings, video tips from the Department of Natural Resources and more to come. You can make suggestions of what else you would like to see in the upcoming weeks and months.

3. If you are seeking a new job in the area, will have five new area positions available lined up for you at 6 p.m. You can see the qualifications needed, some highlights of the position and also click directly to the application and learn more about the position. If you are wanting to list an opening, you can also do so in the Classifieds section or on this article at 6 p.m.

4. We are looking for more outstanding children to feature. If you know of a child that has a successful story or accomplishment from this summer, email lindsey.davidson@patch.com so he or she can be highlighted in our weekly Whiz Kid feature.

5. The City Council meets tonight at 7 in its new location in downtown Woodstock, the Chambers at City Center. An update on the that was put into effect this summer will be given Chief David Bores. Read a full preview at 9 a.m.
