Highway 372 Repairs Continue in Cherokee

GDOT will perform deep patching on the state highway throughout the week.

The Georgia Department of Transportation will continue to repair the asphalt along Highway 372 in east Cherokee County this week.

The agency's maintenance crews will perform deep patching on deteriorating asphalt spots along the highway.

Weather permitting, the work will continue 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday July 15 through Thursday July 18.

The agency uses deep patching to repair "deteriorated, settled, cracking and dislodged pavement," according to its press release.

The technique, the agency said, is also less expensive and "provides a reasonable measure of roadway repairs and reduces maintenance costs."

Highway 372 runs from just west of Nelson near the Pickens County border, through Ball Ground and carves a path along the eastern side of the county until it ends at Highway 140 in Alpharetta.
