Last Day to Register to Vote

1. It's going to be rainy day with a high of 66 degrees and a low of 56, according to the National Weather Service.

2. Today is the deadline to register to vote for the Nov. 8 general election. You can download the voter registration application here . All applications must be postmarked by today. Check the Voters and Registraion Information website for more information.

3. The Cobb County Police Department issued a Mattie’s Call to help find an 81-year-old Northeast Cobb woman Monday evening after she was believed to have driven away from her home earlier in the day. was located by a Commerce Police Department officer on I-85 unharmed.

4.   is teaming up with the National Fire Protection Association to celebrate Fire Prevention Week through Saturday. Firefighters will be visiting all kindergarten students during October with the fire safety house and fire truck. Cherokee firefighters to protect their family and homes before or during a fire.

5. Woodstock-Towne Lake Patch is still looking for  writers. This is an opportunity for you to express your opinion whether it's about the local government, schools, local organizations, sports, real estate, places of worship or the arts. If you have an existing blog or website, this is also an opportunity to reach a bigger audience. Organizations and nonprofits can also have a representative write for them as well.
