Motorcycle Ride Could Cause Traffic Jam

The Sonny Roper Memorial Toy Ride will kick off at 11 a.m. Nov. 5.

A motorcycle ride set for early November throughout Cherokee County could cause a snag in traffic.

The Cherokee Sheriff's Office is notifying residents that the Sonny Roper Memorial Toy Ride, which will be on Nov. 5, could cause traffic in the areas of:

  • Highway 140 between Mountain Road and Sugar Pike Road
  • Lower Birmingham Road
  • Highway 372
  • Yellow Creek Road
  • Highway 108 between the Pickens County line to Waleska;
  • Reinhardt College Parkway from Waleska to Highway 5;  
  • Hickory Road near Messer Reece Road.
The ride will be held on Nov. 5 and will start at the Hickory Grove Shopping Center, located at 9105 Hickory Flat Highway Suite 140 near Woodstock. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. and kickstands go up at 11 a.m. 

The ride honors Sonny Roper, past master of the Hickory Flat Masonic Lodge #205, who passed away in 2012.
