Paving Begins on Towne Lake Parkway; Board Member Not Leaving GOP

Here is the information you need to know Wednesday, Aug. 10.

1. There are sunny skies and a high of 95 degrees on the schedule for today, according to the National Weather Service.

2. The accused of stabbing a 43-year-old family acquaintance. The victim suffered non-life threatening wounds to the back. The suspect faces a long list of charges are she fled on foot from the scene before officials caught her.

3. Towne Lake Parkway near Woodstock Parkway in front of the Cherokee County Tag Office will be paved today between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. One lane will be closed during this time. The paving is on the area where the water leak was last Monday.

4. The deadline for is 5 p.m. today. Local businesses interested in exposing themselves to Woodstock High School seniors next Tuesday should fill out the register form and return it to bpeppers@woodstockga.gov.

5. The Cherokee County Republican Party held a 15-minute meeting at the  Friday night with a resolution urging school board members Janet Read, Mike Chapman, Robert Wofford and Rick Steiner to reconsider their positions or to renounce their Republican ties because of the recent charter school vote.
