School Board to Discuss Charter School

Here is the information you need to know June 16.

1. Last night's storm is behind us, and today appears to be mostly sunny with a high of 91 degrees. There is a 50 percent chance of rain before 8 a.m., but the sun will be peeking out the rest of the day.

2. Superintendent Frank Petruzielo had harsh words for one board member concerning the charter school issue. He said Board Member Kim Cochran's decision to put the issue on Thursday's agenda was "ill-advised." See what else he had to say .

3. Despite the superintendent's feelings, the Cherokee County School Board will be discussing Cherokee Charter Academy's position in tonight's meeting. The meeting starts at 7 p.m., and we will be bringing you updates live via Twitter at @TowneLakePatch.

5. More than 1,200 students will graduate from at 10 a.m. at the Cobb Performing Arts Centre. Woodstock's campus is graduating 44 students over a diverse selection of majors. State of Georgia Attorney General Sam Olens is the guest speaker.
