Schools Pass State's Expectations

Here is the information you need to know July 12.

1. The forecast mimics Monday's; there is a 20 percent chance of isolated thunderstorms with a high near 96 degrees. The heat index values as high as 103.

2. The Woodstock City Council officially moved to downtown. Meetings will now be held at the former Woodstock Community Church at 8534 Main St. Various rooms will also be open to the public to rent for hosting events and meetings. Check the calendar regularly to find out what events will be held at the new location including the regular City Council meetings every other Monday at 7 p.m.

3. Arnold Mill, Carmel, Johnston and Woodstock elementary schools each surpassed the state average score on the Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests. Arnold Mill Elementary fifth graders raised their social studies score 9.8 percent.
