Weekend Temps To Hit the 70s

Enjoy the warm weather. Next week Georgia is expected to cool down as the jet stream dips, ushering in arctic air from the north.

The doldrums of winter are expected to lighten a bit this weekend with warm weather that's going to feel like early April instead of January.

The southeast, including Georgia, and states along the east coast are expected to see temperatures way above average through Sunday, according to the Weather Channel.

In Woodstock, a slight chance of showers threatens an otherwise cloudy weekend as high temperatures Saturday and Sunday are expected to reach into the lower 70s, according to the National Weather Service. The lows are forecast for the high 50s.

Enjoy the warm weather, as next week, the U.S. could be set for a burst of arctic air from Canada and the Deep South could feel it, according to AccuWeather.com. While forecasters aren't sure how much a dip in the jet stream would affect Georgia, temperatures are expected to cool.

"The core of the cold air and the center of high pressure does not appear to be aiming for the Deep South, but some arctic air will filter in," as waves of arctic arrive later next week, according to AccuWeather.com.
