Living the Ideal Life

Fitness trainer Stacy Ward encourages her clients to set short-term goals but also to learn the benefits of long-term lifestyle changes.

If you ask a child what he or she wants to be as a grown-up, their goals will be filled with optimism, hope and success. Many of them will want to emulate their parents, whom they view as their ideal grown-ups – warts and all – as it should be. But if parents are not active; if they don't practice healthy eating and exercise habits, the people their children grow up to be may be unhealthy, overweight and prone to diseases such as diabetes and heart disease.

Breaking out of that cycle isn't easy, but it can be done through a combination of education and opportunities, including:

  • teaching people about the correlation between what they put into their bodies and how their bodies perform even routine processes such as sleeping and digestion

  • introducing activities that fit into every lifestyle

  • helping people understand that “fitness” can be fun and rewarding

  • Stacy Ward, owner and trainer with Woodstock Fit Body Boot Camp, inspires her clients every day, with fun, engaging fitness classes, and offers coaching in nutrition, goal setting, and supplementation based on the goals of each individual in her class. The program offers a complete lifestyle solution for her clients that educates, motivates, and delivers results in a group accountability setting.

When people first join Fit Body Boot Camp, they often have a specific goal in mind, such as a wedding, class reunion or vacation. They want to look good in their dress or pictures, or feel confident wearing a swimsuit. Some want to regain their “pre-baby” figures.

“I look for people who want lifestyle changes,” she says. While some people come to class, reach their goals and then leave, many of them begin with short-term goals and stay because they recognize the benefits of being fit, not just losing weight.

“Boot Camp is not a quick-fix,” she says. “It's not just about weight – losing FAT is more important and making a difference in the quality of life is priceless!”

FitBody Boot Camp meets Monday through Friday at 6 am, and Monday-Wednesday-Friday at 9:15 am at the World of Gymnastics and Cheer off Bells Ferry Road in Woodstock – across from Hobgood Park.
