Community Helps Kent Family

Dylan Kent, 16, passed away March 8 after an eight-month battle with Burkitt's Lymphoma.

The community is reaching out to help a family in need. From bake sales to donations, Woodstock-Towne Lake is stepping up when the Kent family needs them the most.

Dylan Kent, 16, who was battling Burkitt's Lymphoma since July 2010, passed away Tuesday, March 8. He was a freshman at Etowah High School.

The family is feeling the financial burden of funeral expenses and time away from work. The family needs at least $4,000 for the funeral plus the money for the time off.

Here are a list of fundraisers the community is hosting and ways you can help:

Date Location Description On-going SunTrust Banks The Kent family set up the Dylan James Kent Trust Fund. You can donate at any SunTrust location. Cherokee Raptors Middle School Lacrosse Games Pavillion at Riverside Park The lacrosse team will be hosting bake sales and raffles before their games to help the family. March 12 Towne Lake The Chick-fil-A will donate 15 percent of it's sales to the Trust Fund. March 12 Stevie B's will donate 50 cents back per person for anyone who says they're with Etowah High School, Cherokee Youth Football Association or the Kent family. March 12-March 17 Pizza Pilot Pizza Pilot will donate 50 percent of sales for anyone who mentions Dylan Kent's name.
