Company Plans to Add 100 Jobs in Cherokee

A company that plans to bring 300 new jobs to Cherokee County wants to add to that figure.

Inalfa Roof Systems on Thursday announced it will expand its 165,000-square-foot regional headquarters on Highway 92 in Acworth by 45,000 square feet. And that expansion means it will need more people to carry out its functions.  

The company also said it will create an additional 100 jobs and invest an additional $6 million. 

The company last summer announced plans to create 300 jobs with their move to Cherokee County and invest $28 million into the new regional headquarters. 

Inalfa manufactures vehicle roofing systems for the automobile industry. 

Gov. Nathan Deal praised the decision.  

“With this significant expansion, it’s clear that Cherokee County is an ideal location for Inalfa Roof Systems,” he said. “In its relatively short time in Georgia, Inalfa Roof Systems has proven to be a true team player for economic development in the region. This expansion demonstrates the company’s confidence in our No. 1 business climate.”

The facility is located in the Cherokee 75 Corporate Park, east of Interstate 75. The expansions means Inalfa will add a new business unit "that vertically integrates a bi-processed injection molding operation to place black lining around the Inalfa sunroofs," the governor's office said. 

The company's move to Cherokee was named the Deal of the Year by the Georgia Economic Developers Association. 

Cherokee County Commission Chair Buzz Ahrens also commended the expansion.

“We're pleased our community provides Inalfa with a supportive business environment that allows it to achieve these successes,” he added. 

Marshall Day, chair of the Cherokee Office of Economic Development's board of directors, noted Inalfa is a "great example of a company that's been able to make the most of all that Cherokee County has to offer."  

“We recognize the importance of existing industry and will continue to be an advocate for them for years to come.," he added.

The project is slated to be complete by September.
