Downtown Businesses Hold Tailgate Event

Free music, merchandise discounts and giveaways are planned for Friday.

Spend Friday evening in downtown Woodstock and enjoy the many restaurants and stores that the area has to offer as the Downtown Merchants stay open late.

This Friday's theme is the Great Downtown Tailgate and you are invited to show your team spirit and wear your favorite team's gear to the event.

From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. participating merchants will have activities at their stores and throughout the downtown area related to the start of the football season.

Events on tap include the L K T SPORTS ART Cornhole/Bean Bag Toss Tournament. The tournament will host 24 two person teams. First place finishers  and runners up will receives prizes from LKT Sports. To register for the tournament call LKT Sports at 678-494-4303 or stop by the store.

LKT Sports Art will also be celebrating their 12th anniversary with special sales, refreshments and other fun activities.

And there is a potential to win a $100 Downtown Gift Certificate. Here's how it works. For every $10 spent at a Downtown business during Friday Night Live shoppers are entered in the drawing for a $100 Downtown Dollars Gift Certificate. Just bring your receipt for any purchase made at a Downtown business during the event to the Woodstock Visitors Center to enter the contest.

Cupcakelicious and Seven Arrows will have live music in front of their stores.

Copper Coin Coffee will feature musician Cory Welch from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Dress Up Boutique will have a special of $14 cardigans and 25% off for Friday night only.

THREADS will be giving away glowing yo-yo balls and other glowing goodies.
They are also giving away tickets to the Falcons home opener to a lucky customer. Everyone making a purchase this week at THREADS and Branch Boutique can enter! One customer will be chosen at random.

Show Me Off Again will be offering 40% off all yellow and white tagged clothing! And 10% off all other clothing.

Blue Frog Imports will have multiple vendors set up in front of their store.

There will be a Teen Arts Night from 6-8pm at City Center 8534 Main Street Woodstock www.elmstreetarts.org 678-494-4251.

The Teen Arts event is sponsored by Elm Street's Teen Arts Guild (TAG). Bring your guitar, your karaoke cd, your poetry, your artwork, your short stories to share with other creative, arts minded teens. The entry fee of $5 at the door includes a slice of pizza and a soda at intermission. Ages 13-15 will need to have a parent sign them in and out at the door.

iThink Improv Troupe invites Tailgate goers to walk over to City Center for some family friendly laughs. All seats are $5. The performance begins at 9 p.m. at City Center 8534 Main Street Woodstock www.elmstreetarts.org 678-494-4251

Tea Leaves and Thyme will have a Snow White Tea Party. Enjoy flavorful teas and tasty treats and meet Snow White who will sing and tell her story (bring your camera!) both Thursday & Friday beginning at 4:15 p.m. $16.50 includes meal, tax and gratuity. The Woodstock Visitors Center at Dean's Store will feature game night, where you can play your favorite board or card games in the historic Dean's Store.
