Financial Seminar Planned To Help Divorced Women

Experts will dissect truth and myths surrounding divorce and finances tonight at Rose Creek Public Library.

A financial adviser who specializes in empowering women to make wise money choices will join forces with a local attorney to help dispel myths about money and divorce.

Deanna LaRue, a certified financial planner with TimeWise Financial LLC, will present Divorce: Legal and Financial Myths Unveiled tonight at 6 p.m. at the Rose Creek Public Library.

Woodstock attorney Mark Shriver will join LaRue to "provide education to women who may already be divorced or who are contemplating divorce."

LaRue said the seminar will help women "understand their options" when it comes to divorce.

"It's a huge transition," LaRue said. "Many times, couples will share the financial duties or maybe the husband was the one who did all the duties. We are trying to teach them what to expect.”

TimeWise Financial specializes in helping women find their financial footing, no matter what stage of life they are in. LaRue noted she can feel the excitement her clients express when they are closer to their goals.

“I work well with other women," she said. "They don’t feel intimidated when they are asking me questions.”
