Free Starbucks Coffee If You Buy Someone Else's
Promotion to "Come Together" and set an example for Washington lasts through Friday.
With the political wars in Washington -- the government shutdown and the looming debt ceiling battle -- Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz thinks people can set a better example for the nation's leaders.
From Wednesday to Friday, Starbucks has announced on its website that it will provide a free tall coffee to anyone who buys a beverage for someone else.
According to Schultz's post, the "Come Together" promotion is designed to get people to “support and connect with one another, even as we wait for our elected officials to do the same for our country.”

Schultz has previously entered the national political fray. In 2011, he called on executives to withhold campaign contributions to either political party until the U.S. House and Senate toned down their bickering. And he has weighed in on the gun control debate, asking customers to not bring their firearms into any Starbucks franchise.
