International Company To Locate Headquarters to Cherokee

A global manufacturing company will soon establish its North American headquarters in Cherokee County.

Continental Case will set up shop inside the county, bringing with it a $3.5 million investment and 70 new jobs.

The Georgia Department of Economic Development late Friday announced the news.

The company will locate in Majestic Realty's Cherokee Commerce Center in southwest Cherokee County, said Cherokee Office of Economic Development President Misti Martin.

The property sits on the southwest corner of Highway 92 at Interstate 75. 

The company manufactures replacement parks, shelves and skin kids for many major brands of refrigerated cases for the supermarket industry. 

"Continental Case is a great example of an international company that has chosen to invest in Georgia and capitalize on our transportation infrastructure," said Georgia Department of Economic Development Commissioner Chris Cummiskey. "The low cost of doing business in Georgia will allow them to better serve customers through their Georgia-based North American headquarters." 

The Georgia Department of Economic Development worked hand-in-hand with the Cherokee Office of Economic Development and Electric Cities of Georgia to bring the project to Cherokee. 

Continental Case has locations in Le Gardeur, Quebec (Canada), Tulsa, Oklahoma, and offices in Northbrook, Illinois.

Marshall Day, chair of the Cherokee Office of Economic Development's board of directors, praised the move to the county.

"Cherokee County is perfect for Continental Case as the company’s new facility will house its headquarters, manufacturing, and distribution," he said. "We look forward to working with them to make this location a huge success."

Steve Holcomb, chair of the Cherokee County Development Authority added the constitutional authority was "pleased to play a role" in recruiting the company to come to Cherokee. 

The Georgia Department of Labor and Georgia QuickStart will help Continental Case in hiring and developing a workforce for the facility.
